中国索引学会简介

    中国索引学会（The China Society of Indexers简称CSI）是索引研究和编纂的非营利性学术组织，也是具有法人资格的全国性社会团体。经中央民政部注册登记，于1991年12月24日在上海成立。 现总部设在复旦大学图书馆，挂靠单位为复旦大学，主管单位为中共中央编译局。学会以“真诚、求实、开拓、奉献”为办会宗旨和会员活动准则，旨在促进索引理论研究，繁荣索引编辑出版，培训索引编纂人才，加强国内外学术交流。学会设有秘书处以及学术研究、编译出版、教育培训、宣传联络等专业委员会。目前学会在全国图书情报、学术文化和新闻出版系统发展有会员一千余人，并在各省市自治区设有联络处。学会成立后即筹划编纂出版大型工具书《二十世纪中国学术论著目录索引丛书》，并由葛永庆等主编《索引研究论丛》（已出版《索引的昨天、今天和明天》、《论索引和索引法》、《索引工作自动化》、《索引技术和索引标准》、《报纸索引和新闻数据库》等专辑）。学会每隔两年召开年会暨学术讨论会，还定期举行各类成果展评和学术报告会、研讨会等活动。目前，中国索 引学会正团结全国索引工作者，并愿与海外同行一起，运用现代先进技术，积极开拓索引服务领域，大力推动索引事业向现代化、社会化方向迈进。

The China Society of Indexers
A brief Introduction

    The China Society of Indexers (CSI), with its headquarters 1ocated in Fudan University , is an independent non-profit academic organization engaged in index research and study and is also a national incorporated mass organization, of which qualification has been examined by the Translation & Compilation Bureau of the Central Committee of CPC and Which has been registered to the Central Ministry of Civil Affairs. The Society takes to be sincere and realistic, to pioneer and to be dedicated to index research and study as its aim and code of conduct for its members, aiming at promotion of research and study of index theory, flourishing index compilation and publication, training professional indexers and strengthening academic exchange at home and abroad. Under the Society there are Secretariat, Compilation Department, Research and Study Department, Propaganda Department, Liaison Department, and also two editorial departments of the Series of Indexes to Chinese Research Treatise of the 20^th Century and the Collected Essays of Index Research and Study, and research and study-rooms of the History of Harvard-Yenching institute Sinological index Series, of the Chinese Retrieval and Storage Technology and of the Indexing Methods and Standards, etc. The Society has hold two annual meetings and academic seminars and the award-giving ceremony of the 1st National Exhibition and Judgment of Index Achievements successively in December 1992 and September 1994. The Society has also hold the First National Liaison Meeting in October 1995. At Present, the China Society of Indexers is uniting indexers all over the country and overseas colleagues to broaden areas of index service with modern advanced indexing methods and put index cause into modernization and socialization.
